PARENTS
Please note that we will be asking each student to purchase a "blue book" for next year. It is titled "Foundations for a Superior Performance," and it is available on Amazon.com for as little as $6.
PLEASE ENSURE THAT YOU GET THE BOOK THAT IS APPROPRIATE FOR YOUR CHILD'S INSTRUMENT--A FLUTE BOOK WILL NOT WORK FOR A TRUMPET PLAYER.
 
 
 
 
A NOTICE TO ALL PARENTS: All band students are expected to practice regularly (preferably daily) outside of class in order to perform as expected in the class. Here are some ways you can help:
  •  Encourage your child to bring their instrument home and practice daily
  • Have your child play for you often so you can hear if they are improving
  • Set aside certain times that are designated practice times and make sure that they are observed, just like homework time--practice habits are just that, habits!
  •  Encourage your child to take time to PLAY on their instrument. Music is about FUN, and sometimes it's best to put the sheet music away and experiment with the instrument. 
  • If you play an instrument (like guitar, piano, or a wind instrument), play together with your child. It will improve both of your abilities, and it will provide you with quality time together!
