2013-14 will be my third year in the classroom at Sabine ISD.  My first year was spent teaching Algebra II at Sabine High School, which gave me a great perspective on what skills our 5th graders need to master as they complete their elementary years and head into greater challenges in middle and high school mathematics.  But, 5th Graders have my heart! I love teaching this age group: seeing them realize their potential and discover the opportunities that await them!

A little about me personally:  I have a B.B.A. in Accounting from The University of Texas at Tyler, a M.S. in Accounting from Texas A & M University (WHOOP!), and after almost 20 years in accounting achieved my lifetime dream of becoming a school teacher by completing my teacher certification in mathematics grades 4-12 in 2011.  I have been married 31 years to a wonderful guy: Rusty Russell, a native of Longview, Texas; and we have two terrific sons: Richard who graduated from Sabine HS in 2007, received his BA in Anthropology from Texas A & M University in 2010, his MA in Biological Anthropology from The University of Oklahoma in 2013 and is pursuing his doctorate at OU; and Austin who is a senior at Sabine High School and is an all out sports lover - but especially a futbol fanatic!
